All About Sandy, Oregon
Today, an essential stop on the historical Oregon Trail is Sandy, Oregon. Less than 12,000 people call Sandy home, which makes for a quiet small-town Oregon life. Indeed, there’s much to enjoy in our serene, welcoming town. That includes the spectacular Jonsruds Viewpoint, where you can see Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge in all their glory.
Sandy, Oregon, is a must-see bucket list destination for mountain bikers. You can thank the fantastic Sandy Ridge Trail for that, where you’ll find 12 miles of phenomenal paths! In the summer, mountain bikers of every skill level head to Sandy to enjoy the biking and local-brewed beer!
In town, there's plenty more to enjoy! We recommend starting with Sandy’s fun and fascinating Historic Walking Tour. It’s a fascinating look at Sandy’s history, going back to Lewis and Clark! And don't miss the sensational Sandy Actors Theater, where they put on live plays throughout the year.
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention Sandy’s fantastic craft beer scene. Part of Portland’s storied Beervana, Sandy, Oregon, offers up some of the tastiest suds in the state. We suggest starting at Bunsenbrewer, the oldest local brewery in Sandy. (The science-themed interior is a hoot!) Don’t miss the Boring Brewing Company, either. Trust us; it’s the exact opposite of their name and an exciting, delicious nano-brewery. (We highly recommend their Rosemary-Oatmeal Stout, it’s superb!) There are several more, including The Beer Den, Red Shed Public House, and Two Mikes Saloon. All receive 4.5-stars or better in their online reviews!
Sandy, Oregon Storage Units
Northwest Self Storage has one of our signature locations in Sandy, Oregon. Our facility has safe, clean, and secure Sandy, Oregon storage units. And, our Sandy location is on the way out of town, going northwest on Rte. 26. The full address is 36800 Industrial Way, in a relatively busy part of town. There are plenty of fast food places and a bar or two when you need to wet your whistle.
You’ve got Taco Bell, Starbucks, McDonald's, and Domino's to start. Buddha Kat Winery is also very close, a great place to quaff a locally made wine. Scooter's Restaurant & Sports Bar is close by but, for more variety, we suggest heading back into town. That's where the cuisine gets really delicious! Before doing that, however, if you've got things to donate, there's a Goodwill just down the street. Are you traveling with your furry friends? If yes, Sandy Bluff Park & Dog Park is less than a mile away.
