Storage Units at 620 Elm St in Forest Grove, OR 97116

We have been renting since 2016. Skylar has been very attuned to our needs. We really like the garage that we rent. This is a first class storage facility and well secured.

UPDATE: I found the standard response left below a bit obnoxious considering I get increases on a regular basis from them, and that was clearly not the issue. (The issue was the ridiculously huge increase of $43 PER MONTH.) Luckily the local office actually called me to talk about it. They were able to remove the increase at this time and said they will not raise my rates for the next 9 months. (Yay!) After that, my rate may go up again, but they said to call back at that time to see if they can do anything, but no promises. I do appreciate the effort made, but hope I don't just see a huge increase again in 9 months. :-/ I also appreciate the awesome service at my local office, but I really do think the rent is a bit expensive considering the area. I have updated my review based on this excellent customer service and I will update the review again next rate increase to see how much it went up and what happened. $43 PER MONTH rent increase?!?!?! DO NOT RECOMMEND. Ever since the small business owners sold out to a corporation, everything has gone downhill and prices have gone through the roof. The former owners used to have a discount if you paid for a year in advance, but the corporation got rid of that. The new corporate owners also immediately raised rates and continue to raise them well above what the previous owners did - every year. I thought the increases were a bit high before, considering its location on the outskirts of a small town. This new increase takes the cake though. Increasing the rent $43 a month is outrageous and there’s no excuse for that kind of rent in a small town like this. I’ve been renting there for years with no issues. This is how they treat loyal customers? Extremely disappointed and do not recommend at all.

We keep are Travel trailer here! They have been great. Our trailer has been safe no incidents. We surely have appreciated that it's gated and their cameras. Spaces are spacious and the employees have been very professional and friendly.

I had to go 1 star initially after I responded to the first survey, and, I even used the “contact us first” option that was available to try to sort my issue before going “live”. I didn’t get a reply until I did post publicly and that is my biggest gripe, just trying to reach someone outside traditional office hours. My schedule does not readily lend itself to that and there is no way to leave an off hours message. That said, we were able to sort out the missed communications and reason why, and everyone I’ve dealt with has been super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable so I am cautiously optimistic things will go forward smoothly.

I participate in storage auctions so I visit Storage Lockers pretty regularly. I'll have to say,that Nw self storage is by far the coolest group I e worked with!

I rented several units a various times over two years and I never had any issues. The entire staff was awesome! I also rented U-Haul vehicles from Northwest and it was always easy. I highly recommend the facility on Elm in Forest Grove.

A very nice inside storage place. We have used this location for school summer storage for college for the last three years. I definitely would recommend going here for self-storage. They also have a student discount.

So I am updating the below "angry" review I wrote around June 27, 2021, because the compqny absolutely came through for me after I contacted them. Skylar, in the corporate office, explained their reasons for not randomly sawing off locks, which I came to understand, as people can claim anything to get into a storage unit. They made it right and offered an option, which though it entailed making a trip down, worked out favorably for me. They were kind, non-judgmental and accommodating. I would rent there again. Their corporate statement is one that epitomizes customer service, and they put that into practice for me. Wendy Johnson Seattle, WA I am beyond angry about renting at this place. Although the staff is nice, the company policy borders on extortion. I was handling a serious family emergency over the weekend and trying to move a family member in Oregon out of an apartment. I could not afford to rent two different storage units, so I rented a larger one closer to this family member's home, and decided to consolidate my storage with theirs in order to avoid having to pay $160.00 for two units. I live in Seattle, but have things stored in Oregon because I plan on returning when I retire in November. In the chaos of the emergency move out, I lost the key to my storage unit at the Elm St. location of NW Self Storage. When I called the office, I was literally in tears due to the stress. Imagine how I felt when they told me that I had to call my own locksmith to come out to the facility; and then round up a facility employee to witness them cutting my own lock off?!? I felt as if I was going to have a heart attack. We had to be back in Seattle that night. I called three different locksmiths who all wanted massive amounts of money to come out and saw the lock off (over $200.00 or more). I was told because I signed the contract, and the contract specifically stated any lost key would require a locksmith, that was the ONLY option I had. I could not afford that, so I had to leave my things at NW Self Storage, and move the family members things into another storage unit, then drive up to Seattle after wasting precious time calling locksmiths; and, a very stressful move. i arrived home to Seattle at 3:40 a.m.!!! The gentleman from whom I rented a U-Haul at another (Hillsboro) storage facility said it was a ludicrous policy; and told us customers lose or misplace keys. To provide customer service he verifies their identification, charges them $20.00 to saw the locks off and sells them a new lock. He asked why we didn't rent from him, and I said "if only I had!" (To add insult to injury his storage facility rates were better for a larger space and climate control). It pays to shop around! Bottom line, I will have to continue to pay $79.00 per month for my things stored at NW Self Storage (assuredly they will raise my rent in 6 months); AND, they are holding my items, and me, hostage. I just want to get my things out of there, but they will not allow me to unless I spend hundreds of dollars paying them; and another few hundred dollars to hire a locksmith. This company should be ashamed of its business practices. Don't be fooled by their company bio about being kind, as they are anything but. Do not rent here because, IF you are only human, and you have a bad day, and you lose your keys, you will pay with your very sanity. Wendy Johnson Seattle, WA

It's INSIDE ! No loading or unloading in that triple diget heat, or the rain 🌧️ or snow ❄️🌨️ Or manic wind 🌬️. CLEAN. Boy is it clean. Extremely nice and knowledgeable staff.

The customer service is awesome! I messed up my reservation and Lindsey was able to help me out and set me up with a different unit! So great!

Great storage place

After searching for a place to store our camper, and dealing with several other storage locations this place was amazing. Theresa not only was super friendly and amazing to work with while getting a spot reserved, she also went above and beyond to help us out (when everything else went haywire) and ended up staying late to make sure we could get our spot when we arrived just after she was supposed to go home for the day. Best customer service experience I've had ever! Thanks Theresa!

The staff at this storage facility is extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Called the facility a day prior to move-in and spoke with Ms. Jaci about my rush to move in and she was able to reserve a storage spot with kindness. I felt comfortable and welcomed. As I came in the next day, I worked with Ms. Megan I believe and she continued the perfect service I can ever ask for. Thank you Forest Grove Storage for the security of my property and the friendly welcoming staff.

Daniel is the BEST!!! we have been using this company fot 3 years and have NO problems. We actually had two seperate units to start-- and Daniel let us know when a single larger unit became available to save us. $$.

I've had my RV in storage here for 6 months now and what a fantastic place to do business. The manager, Shari, is very friendly and customer oriented. The only way to truly rate a business is to see how they handle a problem. I had a hiccup on my automatic storage payment and I went in prepared to argue, Shari never gave me a chance, she accepted my version of the event without question and resolved the problem in my favor immediately. It's nice to do business with people who actually put the customer first, this appears to be one of those businesses.
